I could not agree with you more about G being a huge monopoly!! They already have too much control over web search... and every time they release a new app, they are straying from their search business model, into an overwhelming monopoly!

IMHO - the search industry will step up and start taking some of that market share back from them. There are some players like ask.com, searchme.com and of course msn and yahoo, that will have a shift in 09...
