What You Don’t Know About SEO
I know I haven’t been blogging much on this site lately but when I don’t think I can offer value I refuse to post for the sake of it. I’ve been very busy trying to develop income streams outside of eBay over the last couple of months and lets say, well, I’m breaking even. Not a stellar result but I still haven’t found anything as profitable as building mini sites.
Anyway back to that headline. I received a software update today to an SEO tool which enables you to compare your website to the top 10 ranked Google sites. This was an interesting development as direct comparison could reveal what I have been missing and help move me up the rankings.
I guess you could say this turned into an interesting learning experience. You see by all the on site and off site criteria evaluated by the tool my site should have occupied the no. 1 position yet it is languishing in the 90s? How could this be?
Well in all probability Google is treating my links as low value enabling those sites with fewer and in some cases no links to the target page to outrank my site.
So are there really things you don’t know about SEO? Absolutely, but in this case it proves that links alone are not enough. The links have to be of a higher quality. Tools like SEO Elite can help track down your competitors links enabling you, in theory, to get links from the same site. If only it were that easy.
